Hi there!
I'm Noël, happy hiker and long-time believer in being an integrated and positive part of the natural world.
I had the privilege of spending several summers working for Parks Canada in the stunning landscapes of Waterton Lakes and Banff National Parks, where I worked closely with both visitors and wildlife every day. Alongside managing day-to-day human–wildlife interactions, I specialised in public education about bears and what to expect when hiking and camping in bear country. I was often surprised by how many myths about bears and their behaviour still existed—and by how dangerous those misconceptions could be.
Over the years, my interest in wildlife education grew beyond the workplace and into my volunteer work with Search and Rescue, community presentations, schools, and youth programs. I've had the opportunity to speak with everyone from outdoor enthusiasts and professionals to elementary school students, and each audience has taught me that the best education is practical, approachable, and relevant to real experiences.
Today, those experiences have evolved into three different program streams: youth education, outdoor recreation, and professional training. This website brings those programs together while also providing practical information and resources for anyone interested in learning more about wildlife and staying safe outdoors.
Thanks for stopping by, and happy exploring!
